Why not just buy a pet or a baby doll?

I can't seem to get over this obsession with being "different" by spelling names differently (ie. Ethan Eathen Ethen, etc...) or naming your child after a freaking car, perfume, and whatever idiots are naming their children after these days. Do people not think about the child who will carry this name for life? Children are not a trend. It's one thing to follow trends, but when it is just plain silly one should actually show care when choosing a name. I love the whole word reversal thing now...Heaven to Nevaeh....cute...another stripper is born. Here's the catch...everyone using these silly naming techniques think they are being original or different when they are actually, all along just following the Joneses. Maybe I'm being silly though. I just hate to see people take so little care in naming their children. It's one thing to name a pet or doll something absolutely retarded, but these, again, are children who will have to live with this. What do you think?
