Why do Democrats always seem to sieze upon everything as some sort of "DISASTER"?

FDR siezed upon the depression and actually prolonged it, Truman the threat of communism ditto JFK and LBJ. Then LBJ further compounded it with his "Great Society " and welfare. Jimmy Carter was the threat of stagflation and global cooling. And Clinton well Clinton had his own disasters such as Monica gate and WACO Ruby Ridge and Oklahoma City. Now we have Obama screaming like chicken little about a non-exsistent depression and a great hoax called global warming.
