Should I mention someone's birth date in a feature story?

I'm writing a story about a very elderly person who lives in our community. The year of her birth--1903--is rather amazing! She has a great quote where she states the exact birthdate, but in this age of identity theft, I'm hesitant to mention too much info on her, lest she get snookered somehow. Am I being overly-cautious, or is mentioning her exact birth date kosher, journalistically-speaking?
