Help proofreading my paragraph??!! Please and thank you!?

"Social Anxiety is becoming more prevalent in the world today. Social Phobia has been estimated to occur in 3 percent of the population. With it commonly occurring amongst women over men, at a 2 to 1 ratio (Elkin). Social anxiety disorder was not recognized or diagnosed accurately, until recent years. Information suggests that one in eight Americans will suffer from this disorder in their lifetime. Social anxiety has become the third most common psychiatric disorder after depression and alcoholism. Studies have shown that somewhere between ten to nineteen million people in the United States are affected by social anxiety (Markway). Social anxiety does not leave out any race, gender, or age in who can develop the disorder. Though, it does typically shows up before the age of twenty, many people generally notice symptoms of being shy or anxious as far back as their memory allows (Markway). It is important that someone understand and recognize the symptoms of social anxiety because, the earlier it is recognized, the better the outcome will be for the person. Even with it being as common of a disorder as it is, some people still mistake this anxiety with only being overly shy. The symptoms can come in any combination, from physical and mental, to emotional. While it could become frustrating for the one with social phobia, there are several options for treatment, with a relatively high success rate. "
